QUESTION: What is shredding?

ANSWER:

Shredding is the process of permanently erasing files and traces from a user's machine. This is done by overwriting the files, so that they cannot be recovered. StealthRay allows the user to choose between five shredding levels: "3," "7," "10," "15," and "35." The numbers refer to the amount of times a file is being overwritten. The default shredding level is "3."
